Chicago Voices put out a call in January to find Chicago-based groups that had compelling stories to share about their community. After careful review of the applications, by a panel from the Chicago Public Library, eight groups were selected for the semifinalist round!
The three groups who receive the highest number of votes will have the chance to develop their story into an original music theater work with the support of Lyric staff and artists.
Now it’s your chance to vote for your favorites!
Watch the videos below and select the story you find most compelling.
Make sure you watch each of the eight groups' videos and vote for the story you want to see on stage. Votes may be cast for your favorite community group below. You must provide your email address and ZIP code before casting your vote. If you do not have a valid email address or ZIP code, you will not be able to complete the voting process. A person may vote once in a 24-hour period. You are not allowed use an automated system to cast votes.
The opportunity to vote is offered by Lyric Unlimited free of charge. However, you are responsible for obtaining your own computer equipment and internet connectivity, and your provider’s standard internet access charges or data charges apply.
Individuals may vote up to once every 24 hours during the voting period, which continues through April 2, 2017. If Lyric Unlimited finds that an individual has cast more than one vote per day, the excess votes will be voided.
After submitting your vote on the website, you may receive a “thanks for voting” confirmation message if your vote was received by Lyric Unlimited. Please note that votes Lyric Unlimited determines to be in violation of the voting rules will not be counted.
The online ballot for the Community Created Performances program has been designed to work well for a range of user equipment and browser configurations. If you nonetheless encounter problems, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
