Chicago Voices Community Created Performances Online Voting Rules

ONLINE VOTING FOR LYRIC UNLIMITED’S CHICAGO VOICES PROJECT IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND PROCEDURES. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY.

Eligibility to Vote
Anyone wishing to vote for his or her favorite semifinalist group must be 13 years of age or older and have a valid email address and ZIP code. No purchase is necessary. The opportunity to vote is void where prohibited. Lyric Unlimited reserves the right to disqualify from voting any person it believes has violated these rules and procedures.

Voting
Online voting begins at 12:00:01 p.m. Central Time (“CT”) on March 13, 2017 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on April 2, 2017 (“Voting Period”). Votes received after 11:59:59 p.m. CT on April 2, 2017 will not be counted. Each voter may vote once every 24-hour period using the standard user interface of Lyric Unlimited’s voting site. Votes will be considered cast by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of the vote. Voters authorize Lyric Unlimited and its contractors to use submitted email addresses for purposes of validating and counting votes. Voters are not allowed to use multiple email addresses to vote multiple times per day, generate votes using automated means, interfere with the voting site, or circumvent the security technology used on the voting site. For purposes of this Voting Period, a “24-hour period” begins at the time a vote is cast and continues until 24 hours have passed. Lyric Unlimited’s computer shall be the official timekeeper for all matters related to the Voting Period. All votes are final and cannot be changed following submission. Votes will not necessarily be acknowledged by Lyric Unlimited.
Semifinalist groups may encourage members, family and friends to vote for them, but may not offer any incentive or other promotion to induce voting for them. Lyric Unlimited reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any votes deemed to be fraudulent, not cast in conformity with these rules or otherwise undermining the integrity of the voting process. Lyric Unlimited also reserves the right to disqualify any semifinalist group suspected of receiving such votes, or to terminate, modify or suspend the voting or substitute another means of determining finalists if Lyric Unlimited believes the online voting process is tainted by errors, fraud or unfair practices or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the voting. These rules and procedures are subject to change at the discretion of Lyric Unlimited. Decisions of Lyric Unlimited are final.

Technical Issues

Voters are responsible for providing their own computer equipment and internet connectivity for voting. Lyric Unlimited is not responsible for technical failures of any kind or any problems or delays arising from any technical, software or equipment malfunctions, computer viruses, congestion on or unavailability of the voting site during the Voting Period, any other technical, equipment, or human errors of any kind.

Disclaimer
Neither Lyric Unlimited, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, their affiliates or their respective officers, directors, or employees shall be responsible for: (1) any injury or damage to any person’s computer in connection with the voting process; (2) communications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind; (3) errors in any promotional or marketing materials; (4) any human or electronic error in connection with the voting or tallying of votes; or (5) votes that are misdirected, garbled, lost or late.

Award
At the close of the Voting Period, and subject to the foregoing, the 3 groups with the highest vote count will be selected as potential finalists to participate in the creative development process. For more information, see the Community Created Performances Frequently Asked Questions.
